Briefing the UN Security Council on Youth, Peace & Security
The Security Council is the most powerful body of the UN — charged with ensuring international peace and security. In 2015 it adopted Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security, reaffirmed in 2018 by Resolution 2419. On 17 July 2019, for the first time since those resolutions were adopted, the Council invited young women to brief it on their implementation. Wevyn was among them — and used the moment to push for more than a one-off invitation: for the Council to keep making space for young people to speak, well beyond that day.

Protect the human rights of all — especially young human rights defenders, peacebuilders and sexual minorities.
